Job Description:

Novus Select is looking for a highly organized, technically minded, and production-savvy Camera Assistant & Equipment Manager to join our team.

This position is responsible for independently overseeing a robust equipment inventory (video, photo, Grip & Electric), serving as a first AC on location, and supporting various technical aspects of the photo and video production process.

We are seeking a candidate with 5+ years of relevant experience in the production industry who is detail-oriented, dependable, proactive, technically curious, and excited to keep our equipment systems and office operations running smoothly. This role is an office based position, 9am - 5pm M-F, and requires domestic/international travel for on-location productions approximately 20% of the year.

While each member of the Novus team brings specific skills to their defined role, our success as a team depends on our desire and ability to collaborate across all elements of the NS workflow.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assistant Camera

    • Work on location with various cinema camera systems (Arri, Red, Sony) filling a traditional first 1st AC role

  • Equipment Management

    • Maintain the Novus equipment inventory (firmware updates, manage repairs, new purchases, etc.)

    • Prep equipment for productions and demob after wrap

    • Manage equipment carnets

    • Maintain equipment documents: inventory lists, rate cards, etc.

    • Create equipment estimates

  • Device Management (specific to commercial projects)

    • Prep and manage customer devices for use in production

    • Develop and maintain device management workflows

  • Day to Day Operations

    • Assist with shipping and receiving of production assets

    • Assist with technical aspects of the office: server, monitors, firewall, etc.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

• Deep experience with cinema camera systems and video production work flows

• Confident in asset management and data wrangling

• Versed in media production software: checksum programs, Adobe Suite, etc.

• Confident with Apple devices – hardware and software

• Solid travel experience with a valid driver’s licence and passport

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

• Exceptional attention to detail
with strong communication skills

• Willingness to accommodate production schedules outside of normal working hours

• Self-motivated problem-solver
able to work independently

• Ability and excitement to function as a tech-savvy multi-tool across the team

• Valued but not required: experience with photography equipment and work flows

Location:

South Lake Tahoe, CA

Compensation:

Full time salary exempt: $75,000 - $90,000 based on experience
